About Vicki MooneyVicki Mooney is a published and produced playwright and a native of Tulsa, Oklahoma. She moved to New York City with Gerry in 1979 and began writing for the stage in 1982. She has had several plays produced off-off-Broadway, including "Cake and Sippin' Whiskey" by the Neighborhood Group Theater on Theatre Row in 1984, "Film At Eleven" by NBT in 1986, and "Sparrow", a monolog about the Oklahoma City bombing, produced at Ensemble Studio, LA, in 1996 and in Ensemble Studio Theatre's (NY) prestigious One-Act Marathon in 2004.Other monologs have also been produced as parts of larger works. "Lucky" under the title JOURNEYS by Theatre 603, NYC, in 1991, and "Dilla Dee" and " Lucky" under the title UNTOLD STORIES at the Writers Theatre the same year. In 2004 Vicki produced an evening of her monologs at South Presyterian Church, Dobbs Ferry, under the title PATCHWORK, which featured Oscar winner Patricia Neal performing "Sparrow". "Cake and Sippin' Whiskey" was published by Dramatic Publishing Co., Westport, CT, in 1985. "Lucky" was published in "Best Men's Stage Monologues of 2004" and "Sparrow" in "EST, Marathon '97, The Complete Plays", both by Smith-Kraus Publishers. Her unproduced, full-length play "Armadillo Chili" has place as a finalist or semi-finalist in many national play competitions. Other full-length pieces, "The Amen Statement" and "The Fat Lady", have had readings both in New York and Los Angeles. From 1984 thru 1988 she performed her Blues Poems at various Greenwich Village clubs, sharing the stage with Cindy Devereux and Born To BeBop. Currently Vicki is working on her second novel, "Downwind". |
About Gerry MooneyGerry Mooney is a commercial artist who has lived and worked in the New York area for most of his life. The main body of his work is magazine illustration, and he has created work for Forbes, Parents, Publisher's Weekly, The Library Journal, Cruising World, Black Enterprise, the New York Daily News, Mad, Newsweek, and many trade magazines. He has produced more than a dozen covers for The New Republic, and he is a longtime contributor to Zillions, the Consumer Reports magazine for kids.In 1987 he began a series of easel paintings of scenes in the town of Dobbs Ferry, the small Hudson River community he and Vicki have called home since 1986. The paintings grew into a body of work that led to gallery exhibits and a few awards in local and New York City art shows. these paintings and magazine illustrations can be seen at Gerry's online portfolio. In recent years Gerry has moved from magazine illustration into web design and has worked on various corporate websites for such clients as Johnson & Johnson, Casio, Continental Airlines and Novartis. He worked for two years at Digitas on the American Express account. He continues to do freelance work for clients ranging from the Long Island Railroad to Greenburgh (NY) Town Supervisor Paul Feiner.
