The lone human character in our story, Colfax is a tough man with an unknown past. He is one of the traders who had the dirty job of dealing directly with the Mansects and who became trapped on Arthropoda when "Beetlemania" began.

When The Exalted Grandragonfly issued an edict against all humans, and a specific warrant for Colfax, the good-hearted Skarab took him under his wing. Colfax then joined the Mansect Rebels to become a valued member of the team.
